sketchwalk in sükhbaatar square

Had the opportunity on our last day in Ulaanbaatar to work with a group of kids from the children’s home. We did a short drawing session first and it was my first time teaching with a translator. Phrasing and pacing the amount of information to give was not easy. Definitely need more practice! It was a beautiful blue sky day at the square and with new sketchbooks and pencils in hand we went in search of statues, buildings and people to draw. There isn’t anything better than spending time with kids drawing outdoors on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Such a great reminder to take the time to really look around and get to know a place in a different way.
